November is what I call the gratitude train month. Everyone is getting on and showing gratitude. I love it and encourage everyone to start a habit of gratitude.  Is 21 days of gratitude in November enough to change your mindset and make you happier?   21 days is not enough.  Would you only brush your teeth 21 days and then quit?

Gratitude is a lifestyle mindset choice that will drastically change your life and business. Most people are grateful when their life is going great and they’re feeling happy.   However, the challenge is being grateful in the difficult times of life.  One of my missions in life is to help others learn about gratitude and take action to live gratefully 365 days a year.  How do you get started?

First, you must open your eyes to a gratitude practice.  All of a sudden, things start to fall into place for your life personally and professionally. How? Start by keeping a daily list of events that you are grateful for each night. Some call it a gratitude journal.  At Grateful Box, we encourage you to write a note and put your Grateful Box beside your bed at night.  We really are not picky about the tool you use, we just want you to begin the journey of practicing and writing down gratitude. Take Action!

Secondly, gratitude creates solutions.  Adopting a gratitude practice takes you out of the grumpy, complaining mode and into a solutions mindset. One of my favorite quotes is, “complaining is poverty and gratitude is riches.”  We all want to be richer; whether that means more money, more time or more experiences. Life is much better when we live in a happy mindset.  It is not happy people who are grateful, it is grateful people who are happy.

When you are grateful, you tend to exude and share a contagious positive energy.  You are the five people that you hang out with, so please choose wisely.  Take notice if people around you are complaining or being positive. Watch your words and replace negative thoughts with positive sayings. That is how I started my journey over 10 years ago.

I celebrate everyone for taking part in the 21 days of gratitude in November.  We can do better and stretch this to 365 days a year.  If you need encouragement and ideas, please follow Grateful Box and give us feedback on how you incorporate gratitude into your daily life.  We are all better together, sharing ideas, and being grateful.
